A Fix for Dry Faces

I don’t know about where you are, but here in Indiana it’s been pretty cold for the past few weeks.

Inevitably, at this time of year, people always ask how I keep my skin looking so smooth and non-flaky when the weather is so bitterly cold.

Enter the Vanicream skin care line.

This line has products that contain no dyes, fragrance, lanolin, or paraben – which are found in many commonly available skin care lines.

To combat dry winter skin, I use Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream.

Vanicream

This cream takes some getting used to – especially for your face.

It is thick, really thick.  I put a drop of the cream on my fingertip to show you how thick it was, but that doesn’t photograph very well.  Suffice it to say, I can walk around with a drop on my fingertip and it’s so thick it won’t even run off.

A drop is literally all you need – so the tube above usually lasts me a minimum of 4-5 months.

Compared to other face products, this one takes a minute to absorb.  I usually put it on my face, style my hair, and then go back and put on my makeup.

At first it feels a bit greasier than other products – but it does absorb completely in a few minutes.

The only problem I have ever had with this product was that it’s not easy to find.  I order mine on Drugstore.com but it has recently become available at most Walgreens in the larger pump size.

Hope the weather isn’t too cold where you are today.  Stay warm!

(FYI: I was neither compensated nor gifted free product for this review.)

Oooh…I think I’ll look for it at Walgreens. I remember you raving about it once before during the summer, I think it was. I’m guessing this is good as an all over body creme, too?? I get so dry, flaky & itchy in the winter time it’s ridiculous.

I am so glad that you posted this. I was just going to ask anyone on Facebook if they knew of something for my dry face. I just moved from Florida to a suburb of Cincy and this cold weather has wrecked havic on my face.

I’ve used the Vanicream Lite Lotion. It works well too. A little oily when it first goes on but absorbs without leaving a greasy feel. Walgreens has the whole line on sale right now.
