Just Call Me Miss Fix-It

So I know this isn’t exactly a crafty blog. But maybe you have a necklace or other piece of jewelry (perhaps broken?) you’re not really sure what to do with. Try recycling it!

I’ve had this plum-tones necklace I bought at Target a couple of years ago to go with some of my fall clothes. It was actually three strands, but I felt it was a little much and cut one of the strands off. Apparently I didn’t get close enough and the wire near the clasp always scratched my neck.

Here it is with just the two strands:

In the jewelry-making department at Hobby Lobby I found a silver wire (with necklace clasps) I could use to remake the necklace:

(I’m sure you can find this sort of thing at Michael’s or a similar craft store if there’s not a Hobby Lobby in your area.)

I re-strung all the beads just like how they were originally, and then used the crimp beads inside a beaded/looped end to re-make the clasp:

Also, I do have a set of jewlery tools, which were only a couple of dollars at one of those craft stores:

I decided not to link the two necklaces together, but keep them separate so I could wear them both at once or alone:

Scratch-free and as good as new!!
