Headbands: Not Just For My Toddler

I like the idea of wearing a headband. They can be really cute and trendy and an easy way to dress up a hairdo. (Or glam up an otherwise, you know, bad hair day.)

I mean, how gorgeous are these?!

Target also has some really darling ones, several currently in their jewelry department. (Like this and this.)

Problem is, my head isn’t shaped so perfectly round and they end up just looking silly on me, especially the wider ones. Sits up too tall, or something.

When shopping recently, however, I spotted this little number:

The top pattern:

It’s a completely flexible, soft plastic headband that only looks like a hard plastic traditional one. It’s extremely comfortable to wear and stays in place, from Goody.

And it conforms to whatever shape your head is. My problem solved!

Do you ever wear headbands? What’s your favorite kind?

I bought two this spring, one brown and one black. The pattern is a little larger on mine and I’ve even been able to weave in a ribbon or lightweight scarf which then stays in place! yay! Definitely a keeper.

I MUST have this headband – I hope they have it at my Target!!

I too have a hard time finding headbands in the right shape. My only advice: if I find one that fits, I buy them all.

Love headbands and wear them often, usually just the elastic kind. They make me look a tad younger, and they distract from a greasy-head day. Ahem. I’ll tell you what DOES NOT fit on my head, is a hat. I’ve never been able to find a hat that really works on my head. Any ideas? Are you a hat person, M?

I like the idea of headbands, but they give me a huge headache every time I try wear one. My mom has the same problem. I’ve never put a headband on my little girl just in case it will hurt her head, too.

You’re too cute. I love it. I’m always looking for things to do to my hair since I tend to only wear it down. I may try this!

I always get major headaches when I wear head bands too. Wonder if this one would feel better?

I love that black flexi headband! Much nicer than what I usually wear. And when I say usually, I mean that I wear a headband every.single.day. Except I wear the kind that are cloth and stretchy and not all that attractive. But they hide a bad hair day and for that, they are worth every penny.

I bought the headband that you have pictured but it didn’t work with my hair/face. It squeezed my head too tight (and I have a small head to begin with) and just made everything flat. I gave it to my younger sister though and it looks adorable on her!

I LOVE the Goody brand flex-tip headband.

It is the best invention ever and makes wearing a headband all day super comfortable — in fact you don’t even notice that it’s there. It definitely helps out bad-hair-days!

This flexible type are the ONLY kind I wear because traditional ones always gap on my head. I also love that these kind fold up nicely and can easily be placed in a purse or pocket. -LR

I tend to shy away from headbands even though I really like the look. My head is ultra sensitive and adorning a lovely band (at least the hard ones) is a sure fire way of triggering a headache.

I do think I could give the flexible ones a try though. I’m getting my hair cut short this week so I need some cute things to accessorize with.

I love the look of a headband so much but I get the worst headaches when I wear them. I do love these ones you have shown for that very reason AND they stay in your hair. My 8 yo loves them too. Wears one almost every day.

That looks darling with your hair pulled up! I definitely don’t have the head or haircut for them tho :(
