Here’s a quick tip about powder and blush brushes. Conventional wisdom dictates using small brushes for blush application and big, fluffy brushes for powder application. This usually results in those red-slashed 80s cheeks and a dust storm of heavy matte powder.
Today we know better. Today natural beauty is in, and the goal is a natural blush flush and skin we can see. So to achieve this more modern look, switch brushes!
The smaller brush is actually better for applying face powder. Use it only on the areas that tend to be oily (the T-zone is the only place I apply powder in the wintertime.)
The big fluffy brush helps achieve a naturally flushed appearance. It hugs the apples of the cheeks, creating a soft natural rosiness, according to Carmindy in her book Get Positively Beautiful.
Try it and see! And I’d love to hear YOUR best tips for achieving a natural flush on the cheeks.

Oh – good advice!
I just purchased some new make-up brushes that are all natural and super dooper soft. I love them – they are called ecotools.
