A Plucky Post About Tweezers

Now, who knew that you needed to spend $20 to get a good pair of tweezers?

Have you ever noticed that all my posts are about me telling you to spend too much money on products? Why is that, do you think? Could it be because I am the world’s biggest beauty snob and I have poor spending habits?

Well, yes, that’s part of it.

But it’s also because I have tried everything under the sun and oftentimes it turns out that you do get what you pay for. Now, don’t get me wrong. There are times when cheap is better. For example, remember I told you that my favorite mascara was the now-defunct Illegal Lengths by Maybelline? And also? When I am not using a Shick Intuition razor, I use super-cheap hair conditioner in place of shaving cream. Works just as well as shave cream, if not better, and it’s cheaper. So go get the cheapest conditioner out there. I am talking the Suave 99 cent bottle. Slather it on and shave away. Your legs will be soft, too.

So now that I have redeemed myself by giving you cheap shaving tips, I will go on to talk about the Tweezerman Tweezer.

I don’t even remember how I discovered it, but somewhere I remember hearing someone say, "You need a Tweezerman!" and of course I listened.

Tweezerman is a beauty supply company that also makes manicure tools, eyelash curlers, shaving and facial products and stuff like that. But I would assume that their claim to fame is their tweezers. Their slant tweezer has won Allure magazine’s Best of Beauty product award seven years in a row. And for good reason.

These tweezers are precise. And efficient. Once you have used them just one time, if you go back to other tweezers you’ll feel like you’re trying to tweeze with spaghetti noodles or something. Seriously. The Tweezerman is sharper, stronger and aligned perfectly. And they come in a ton of colors, including pink, which is all you need to sell me.

200_2

They are $20, and come with a lifetime guarantee. And they will sharpen your tweezers for free, as well! Shipping and handling for this service is free, too.

Their point tweezer is good for ingrown hair, which thank heavens I don’t have to deal with yet. Am just waiting for that shoe to drop. Anyway, it sells for $22, and only comes in a silver color. So I will have to deal with the heartbreak of ingrown hair and a non-pink tweezer all at once. I will think about that tomorrow.

If you go on tweezerman.com, you may become wildly tempted to try their other products. And if you decide to become a Luddite and not go on the computer anymore, you can be assured that Tweezerman can be found all over the place. Try any drug store. Even my CVS in my tiny town has them.

Tweezerman, man. It’s where it’s at. It’s where hair isn’t.

I bought a pair of Tweezerman tweezers about a year ago from Sephora and loved them. Unfortunately, I have also misplaced them. Looks like I’m going to have to invest in a new pair because I’m sure “customer irresponsibility” is not covered in the lifetime guarantee. :)

Is is guaranteed to remove that hair that is elusive that grows out of the side of my face right in the middle of my right cheek?

I can feel it, I can see it, but I can RARELY get it. *sigh* And it keeps breaking off making it more frustrating.

Someone go ahead and say it — soon I’ll be shaving my whole face cuz this one hair will turn into hundreds…. *sigh*

I love Tweezerman tweezers! I have them in purple, and have bought several of them for friends that think it’s crazy to spend $20 on tweezers.

Love the Tweezerman! Why is it that I can find 5 million stray hairs in the little visor mirror in the car? Must be the lighting. I really need to get another pair to keep in the car!

I’ve even seen them by the register at Bed Bath and Beyond. And I wanted some, but I demured. Now I know they’re worth the $. Will invest.

Am I the only person alarmed at the idea of sharpened tweezers? For some reason now I’m almost afraid to tweeze, lest my sharp tweezers slice me. Curse my vivid imagination.

I’m all over a company that will stand behind a pair of tweezers. Sharpen them? Oh yeah! You definitely get what you pay for!

I will add these to the growing list of products I want to try (that were written up here).

Love my Tweezerman’s. Would be one of the beauty items I would want if I were on a deserted island. Mine are hot pink. One of my best beauty purchases – ever!

Love Tweezerman’s. My last cheap pair was completely bent apart by my hubby when I tried to use them on him. I replaced them with the Tweezerman’s thinking that he’ll never bend a pair of $20 tweezers, right? Totally right.

Oh yeah, I’m all about Tweezerman. A few years back, my husband made off with mine and used them in the garage. Ugh! No worries, though, I got a new pink pair! :) And, yes, they’re pointed. I have much better luck with them than with the slanted ones.

Um, I’m a makeup snob too — but Illegal Lengths is my favorite all-time mascara — oh how I miss that blue tube. Now the closest thing I can find is Dior “DiorShow” or Clinique’s green sparkly bottle. And honestly, neither of those are nearly as good.

Sigh.

Thanks for the tip, based on this post I broke down and bought a pair of the tweezers. I would normally never spend this for tweezers, BUT- I had a need and I Love love love them. Now? I can’t stop plucking myself!
